Bollywood actress Aishwarya on 26th January 2009 acknowledged that it makes her proud to hold the title "Padmashiri" given by the Indian Government. In an interview with the Mumbai press reporters she said “I am absolutely honored with the Padmashri title.
And I hope to be able to live up to the promise of it. I am very grateful and will continue doing my best, I am very thankful for the privilege. I am humbled by it. I thank the high officers of our country because this has been accorded to me by them and our fellow people, I hope to be able to live up to the promise of it. I am very grateful and will continue doing my best."
